3 lb. hamburger 2 t. salt
2 c. oatmeal 1/2 t. pepper
2 eggs 2 t. chili powder
1 c. chopped onion
Mix and shape into meatballs, meatloaf, or salisbury steak. I usually do 3-5 batches of this at once and then freeze the meats individually on cookie sheets. When they are frozen, I put them into freezer bags. It makes it so easy to get out as many as you need.
Our very favorite BBQ sauce for meatballs is:
2 c. catsup 2 T. liquid smoke
1 1/2 c. brown sugar(scant) 1/2 t. garlic powder
Bake meatballs at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
This sauce is awesome. We use it on baked BBQ chicken, and when I make BBQ meat sandwiches(pork roast with BBQ sauce).
This recipe comes from Amish-Country Cookbook Volume III (from Essenhaus)
Enjoy!
