To Die For Broccoli Cheese Soup!

I think maybe you can tell that we LOVE broccoli around here.  This is an absolute family favorite.  So therefore this soup is also our favorite.  You will never want to have broccoli soup out of the can after you taste this.  AND it's so incredibly EASY!  Great combination if you ask me.  So here you go.

2 1/2 c. broccoli (cook until tender in a few inches of water, save liquid)
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 t. chicken base
1/4 t. onion powder
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 in (maybe more ;)Velveeta Cheese (cut off the log)

Melt butter in skillet, add flour until lumps dissolve.  Slowly stir in milk.  Add chicken base, onion powder, salt and cheese.  Cook and stir until thickened.  Boil one minute.  Add 1 c. liquid from broccoli(add water if needed).  Add broccoli and enjoy!  Bon Appetit!

I make a double batch of this for our family and there are very few left-overs. YMMV.
