Tuesday's Tip - Easiest way to take skin off chicken

I realized this past week as I was preparing my chicken, that I unintentionally told a fib.  I use paper towels for one more job.  However, it's so easy to do this way and not nearly as messy, that I don't see myself changing this habit anytime soon!

Here's the easiest way to skin a chicken!

Step #1, get your tools together.  You'll need a paper towel, cutting board, cleaver, and a knife to trim the fat.

Step #2  Grab the upper corner of the quarter with a paper towel.

Step # 3  Pull the skin toward the opposite corner.

Step #4  Pull the skin off, it should come off in one piece fairly easily since you had a good grip with the paper towel.

Step #5 Cut off the tail.  It does not taste good.

Step #7 Cut the leg from the thigh with a cleaver.

Now you're ready to make some great chicken!  Enjoy!

Do you have any tips to help save time, money, or my sanity?!  I'd appreciate them.  Thanks!  Got a great tip on your blog?  Leave a link below.  Please make sure the link goes directly to the page with your tip, or it will be deleted.  Thanks!

I had to do this yesterday to a chicken I tossed into the slow cooker. I noticed that since it wasn't completely thawed, the fat and skin peeled off much more easily.
