Taco Salad

Photobucket

This is a family staple during the summer months!  Very simple and NO measuring!  Just prepare ingredients and layer.  Delish!

Lettuce
1 lb. ground beef, mix with taco seasoning and beans
1 cup rice cooked
chopped onions
chopped green peppers
shredded cheese
chopped tomatoes
crushed Dorito type chips (not healthy, but adds a yummy crunch;)
sour cream
French Dressing

You can omit any ingredients you don't like and add other ingredients that you prefer.  Hubby always adds olives to his.  That's the fun of this recipe, make it to fit your family, and that it's not truly a recipe, just a list of ingredients that you can mix and match!

I hope you've found this post encouraging.

Yummy! My kids love taco salad because they can eat it with a fork. They get frustrated when they eat tacos that fall apart all over.

We love taco salad! That sounds really good right now, with the high temps we've been having.

And I think you've been even hotter than what we have, and you are north of us!

Nikki, We've stopped making tacos for that very reason! It started being that every time we made tacos we ended up just making a salad and crunching up the shells!

Stacy, It has been HOT!!! AND HUMID around here. Today it rained and I don't see 90's for the next few days in the forecast, Hallelujah!
